This was absolutely fantastic. The building is stunning and the exhibitions and history are told in a really interesting and engaging way. I'd definitely recommend the audio guide. I think it was my favourite attraction when visiting Lyon.

The building is awesome. The exhibits are very well documented. The beginning of cinema is displayed there, and that's unique. The only thing that kind of disappointed me was the fact that the building where the first ever film shooting took place was opening on different hours than the museum, and thus, I missed it.

Was a very positive suprise. It was entertaining and very well maintained. Had a nice hour to scroll through and even if i am not a big movie fan i recognized most of the things wich surprised me :) i especially loved the last floor with the miniatures you vould just slow down and watch them and let your phantasy fly.

The Musée Lumière in Lyon is an absolute gem for anyone passionate about cinema or simply curious about its origins. This museum offers an amazing experience that immerses you in the fascinating history of the Lumière Brothers, the pioneers of filmmaking. Walking through the beautifully preserved Villa Lumière, you can feel the significance of the place where cinema was born.
The exhibitions are thoughtfully curated, with a wide range of artifacts, from the original cinematograph to early films made by the Lumière Brothers. The museum does an excellent job of showcasing not only the technical achievements of the brothers but also their influence on modern cinema. I particularly loved seeing the first short films ever created and learning about how these two visionaries revolutionized entertainment.
The interactive displays and multimedia presentations make the visit engaging for all ages, and it’s easy to lose yourself in the rich history of the early days of film. The staff are knowledgeable and passionate, adding even more to the experience.
For anyone visiting Lyon, the Musée Lumière is a must-see. It’s not just a museum—it's a journey through time and the birthplace of cinema as we know it today. Absolutely worth a 5-star rating!

This place is so worth a visit, one of the highlights of our Lyon trip 👍
The building is beautiful to start with. And the collection is great, very informative. Audiotour adds a lot of value as well. Go go go!
